Training Contract and Summer Vacation Workshop

This training workshop sponsored and run by DLA Piper is on maximising your chances of a successful application for a work placement and/or training contract.

The workshop will take place in November 2006 in Birmingham and London. It is specifically targeted at those interested in becoming solicitors and who want to know the when, how, where etc. when applying for work placements and training contracts. This will particularly include undergraduates, GDL students, LPC and BVC students.

Some of the issues that will be covered will include:

·         How to apply

·         What should be in your application

·         How to make your application stand out

·         What to avoid – the common mistakes and omissions

·         Interview technique

·         Personal and other characteristics employers are looking for

·         What it is like to be a trainee

·         Commercial awareness
