Black Letter Law Event 2012 and the official launch of the annual Black Letter Law publication
Our distinguished speaker for the evening will be top human rights and civil liberties lawyer Saimo Chahal, partner at Bindmans LLP.
Saimo Chahal recently represented Tony Nicklinson, a Locked-in Syndrome sufferer, who went to the High Court in a bid to end his life with the help of a doctor. He died of natural causes on 22 August 2012. Her other high-profile cases include that of Debbie Purdy, a Multiple Sclerosis sufferer in favour of whom the House of Lords ruled and as a result of which the Director of Public Prosecutions issued a new policy for prosecutors on assisted suicide.
