• Trevor Faure of Tyco was runner-up In-House Lawyer of the Year at The Lawyer Awards 2007 on the 26th June
• Mr Justice Cameron gave an inspiring keynote speech at the BSALA Annual dinner on the 26th June . Read more
• The actor Kwame Kwei-Armah was a speaker at the BSN Annual Summer Lecture on the abolition of the Slave Trade Act on the 26th June.
• The BNLF gave a very warm West End send-off party to the outgoing popular Nigerian High Commisioner, Dr C Kolade on the 27th June.
• Aika Stephenson won the Young Solicitor of the Year Award at the LALY Awards on the 28th June. Read more
• Abid Mahmood of No 8 chambers in Birmingham was runner-up Barrister of the Year at the LALY Awards on the 28th June.

Our Lawyer of the Month last Month was Sailesh Mehta and this month is Sandie Okoro, a solicitor who is the the new Global General Counsel at Barings Asset Management, a global asset management company which is part of the MassMutual Financial Group that has over US $400 billion under management as at year end 2005.
