This seminar will focus on the Sikh concepts of Truth, Equality & Justice in the socio-political, legal and economic Khalsa Republic of the early 18th century, showing how these policies and concepts were unprecedented to the ‘modern world’ at that time. This blueprint of Banda Singh will be contrasted to the abolition of slavery in the UK.
The event will be held on Saturday 27th June, 2009 at Will’s Memorial Building, Queens Road, Clifton, Bristol, BS8 1RJ. It will begin at 11am and last approximately 4 hours. Light refreshments will be provided during a mid-afternoon comfort break. |
