During this briefing, we would be looking at:

  • The key changes imposed by the Equality Act 2010; and
  • The impact on employers of the abolition of the default retirement age.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

Inform attendees about some of the recent changes in Employment Law and of the changes in 2011.

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Attendees will have a good working knowledge of the key issues in the areas covered with the chance to consider those issues in the context of practical case study examples. Attendees will be provided with handouts to take away for future reference.

 

TRAINERS

Introduction is by Fiona Bolton, a partner in Evershed’s Human Resources Practice Group.

The rest of the session is by Rachael Eyre, a solicitor in Evershed’s Human Resources Practice Group. Rachael specialises in employment law with extensive experience in both contentious and non-contentious matters for both employers and senior executive employees. She has acted for defendants on matters such as whistleblowing, discrimination and unfair dismissal claims and advised on arrange of employment law issues such as redundancies, severances, disciplinary and grievance procedures and the employment law aspects of corporate and property transactions.
