Brendan Roche is a barrister at 7 Bedford Row who practises in all areas of law concerning the welfare of the person. He has a longstanding interest in the care and support of people with learning disabilities and mental illness, having lived and worked in a L’Arche community in France and having been a trustee for over 20 years of a charity that provides holidays for children in need.
Yogi Aminis a Partner in the Public Law Department at Irwin Mitchell. He has extensive experience in public law, human rights law and the Court of Protection. Yogi has acted for vulnerable adults and those deemed as lacking mental capacity including individuals who are required to have medical treatment or care. Yogi is regularly instructed by the Official Solicitor to act for the patient in cases before the Court of Protection.
Professor Tom Senskyis Professor of Psychological Medicine at Imperial College London. He has a longstanding clinical and research interest in the psychological aspects of chronic illness, both physical and mental. He has a particular interest in the understanding and assessment of suffering due to illness. He has assisted the Official Solicitor in the assessment of decision-making capacity and individuals’ best interests. He also has a longstanding interest in evidence-based medicine. He is a medical member of the Mental Health Review Tribunal and the First Tier Social Entitlement Chamber.
Rachel Langdale QC has a medico-legal practice, with a particular interest in cases involving children and vulnerable adults.
