Summertime Breeze: A BLD Summer Social Event

Summertime Breeze is our summer social event hosted by the International Law firm, Berwin Leighton Paisner on Thursday the 7thJuly 2011. Segun Osuntokun, partner at Berwin Leighton Paisner will be welcoming everyone.

The event provides an excellent opportunity to network with other legal professionals and to hear lawyers, Mark Afeeva and Korieh Duodu speak about what everyone is talking about: Sports Law, Privacy, Reputation Management and Super Injunctions. It is an event not to be missed!

Mark Afeeva

Mark Afeeva is a barrister and a member of cutting-edge Matrix Chambers. He is a specialist in sports and employment/discrimination law and has been ranked for many years in the legal directories as a leading junior in both fields. He has advised a number of Premier and Football League players and agents in respect of their transfer negotiations and has been instructed by individuals such as Sol Campbell and Sky Andrew in cases concerning disputes arising between sportsmen and their clubs or agents. Mark is regularly instructed by the Professional Footballers Association (PFA) to represent its members before the FA, Premier League and Football League Tribunals. He is reputed to be the first ever barrister to have been instructed by a Premiership footballer to negotiate the terms of the player’s transfer.

Korieh Duodu

Korieh Duodu is a barrister and Managing Associate at Addleshaw Goddard specialising in defamation, privacy, copyright, passing off, as well as media-related commercial and contractual matters.  He has acted for a variety of well known individuals and corporate entities and has substantial experience in advising celebrities, sports stars and companies on media crisis management issues.  Korieh retains full higher court rights of audience and appeared in two leading confidentiality/privacy cases, McKennitt v Ash in 2007 and Campbell v Frisbee in 2002.  Prior to joining Addleshaw Goddard, he was in-house lawyer at the Guardian Newspapers. Korieh’s publications include: Clerk and Lindsell on Torts (Co-editor, 23rd and 24th eds, Sweet & Maxwell 2004, 2010), Defamation - Law Procedure and Practice (co-author, 3rd and 4th editions, Sweet & Maxwell 2004, 2009), and Entertainment Litigation (co-author, OUP 2011).
